NŌDE's Projects
Faster handling. Better control. Less manual intervention.
The challenge
A manufacturing process relied heavily on manual handling and inconsistent movement. Operators were spending time positioning and clamping, limiting throughput.
What did we change?
We redesigned the handling sequence around coordinated movement, combining actuation, gripping, clamping and control into a more consistent process.
What did the customer gain?
A more repeatable operation, reduced manual intervention and a smoother production flow.
The takeaway: When movement becomes predictable, production becomes easier to control.
Motion and Linear Automation
The challenge
A machine required repeated linear movement, but the existing mechanical arrangement was difficult to adjust and created inconsistent positioning.
What did we change?
We introduced a more controlled linear automation concept, selecting the motion technology around the application’s required stroke, speed, force and repeatability.
What did the customer gain?
Improved positioning consistency, easier machine adjustment and a platform that can adapt as production requirements change.
The takeaway: Good motion isn't simply movement. It's movement you can control.
Sensor and Control: Give the machine better awareness.
The challenge
The machine could perform the required sequence, but operators had limited visibility of what was happening within the process. Fault finding depended heavily on manual checks.
What did we change?
We introduced additional sensing and control points to provide clearer feedback from the machine and improve the relationship between the physical process and its control logic.
What did the customer gain?
Faster fault identification, improved process visibility and greater confidence in machine operation.
The takeaway: A smarter machine starts by knowing what is happening.
When accuracy becomes a competitive advantage.
The challenge
A high-speed application required greater precision and repeatability. The existing solution could perform the basic task, but increasing production demands exposed its limitations.
What did we change?
We moved the application towards a more precise automation architecture, combining controlled electric motion with sensing and machine control to match the application’s requirements.
What did the customer gain?
Greater repeatability, improved process control and an automation platform capable of supporting future machine development.
